New Zealand and Pakistan have always presented entertaining matches when they meet, and this year was no different.

On December 18th, New Zealand and Pakistan will begin a Test series which features three T20I matches and two tests played under typical Kiwi conditions. ODI Matches
Pakistan and New Zealand, who both recently had Test matches end in draws, will meet for three ODI matches beginning Monday at Karachi National Stadium. Pakistan recorded the highest total against New Zealand ever seen in an ODI at Sharjah in 2014 when they achieved 364/4 for seven wickets lost, which ranks fifth-highest ever against them. By comparison, New Zealand reached its lowest ever ODI total against them back in 1986 when they were all out for 64 against Pakistan at Sharjah.
T20I Matches
Pakistan will take on New Zealand in a five-match T20I series starting 24 February at Eden Park in Auckland, and looking to avenge their recent losses of the ODI (3-0) and Test (0-3) series against them.
The T20I series promises to showcase both teams at their best and will be an entertaining showdown. Although defending champions Pakistan are expected to prevail, their rivals from New Zealand have an excellent track record against them and may look for revenge against one of their biggest rivals – something Black Caps will surely want.
Kane Williamson has been in tremendous form for New Zealand recently and will look to lead them to victory against Pakistan this weekend. The batting maestro scored two hundreds in two consecutive innings at home – an impressive feat. Williamson may even add to his T20I century total this weekend!
New Zealand captain Michael Bracewell won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan. New Zealand got off to a great start thanks to an opening stand between Brendon McCullum and Daryl Mitchell; however, their performance soon diminished in the second half of their innings.
Babar Azam was heavily criticized on Twitter for his performance against New Zealand Black Caps but is determined to redeem himself. Although Azam scored an impressive fifty in the opening T20I match against them, he dropped two crucial catches – including one off Mohammad Rizwan’s bowling.
Iftikhar Ahmed proved a surprise hero for Pakistan with the ball, taking three wickets off four overs for Pakistan to seal victory against Australia in T20 Internationals on Sunday (22 April). Although he hadn’t claimed one before now in their previous eight matches, on this gripping and turning pitch he made sure all four batsmen got out, including Tim Seifert (19), Matt Henry (1), Ish Sodhi (1) as well as helping force Will Young (12) out.
Shaheen Amir and Haris Rauf also took wickets for Pakistan as the Black Caps slumped to 173 all out with 10 overs to spare, with Jeemy Neesham and Colin de Grandhome making significant contributions but ultimately it wasn’t enough for a comeback.
